Michael C. Sheedy




Michael C. Sheedy is a trial lawyer and Partner in the firm of Knapp & Roberts (Scottsdale, Arizona). Mr. Sheedy’s current practice is primarily dedicated to the representation of Plaintiffs in cases involving life-changing injuries and wrongful death, including those resulting from medical malpractice.

Mr. Sheedy graduated Cum Laude from Arizona State University in 1984 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics and afterward attended the University of Arizona College of Law where he graduated in 1987. Additionally, in 1994, Mr. Sheedy graduated from an FAA-approved pilot ground school and passed the FAA Private Pilot Airplane examination.

Upon graduation from the University of Arizona, Mr. Sheedy joined the Phoenix law firm of Gallagher & Kennedy, P.A., and later Beer, Toone and Sheedy, P.C., where his practice initially focused on insurance-related matters involving personal injury, bad faith, and contract claims, employment law, products, and premises liability, airport and airline liability, toxic torts, pesticide claims, and abrogation litigation.

Over the past 15 years, Mr. Sheedy has primarily represented people suffering from injuries due to life-changing events caused by the negligence or fault of another and surviving family members suffering from the wrongful death of a child or parent. These catastrophic injuries and wrongful death matters often involve medical malpractice, sexual assault claims, motor vehicle and trucking accidents, nursing home negligence, product defects, and premises liability, to name a few. Mr. Sheedy also acts as a private mediator and arbitrator.

Mr. Sheedy is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the United States District Court of Arizona and the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. Mr. Sheedy is a fellow of the Arizona Bar Foundation and both a member of the American Bar Association and the Maricopa County Bar Association. He was previously on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel and a former member of the Defense Research Institute. Mr. Sheedy has achieved an A-V rating with Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Sheedy was previously an instructor for the Maricopa County Bar Association Mock Trial Program as well as the Maricopa County Bar Association High School Teaching Program.
